Our story

Luminous Bigband is a professional 18-piece jazz big band from Ghent, Belgium, founded in January 2025 and co-directed by trumpet players and conductors Marie-Anne Standaert and Floris Windey.

Rooted in the swing tradition, the band plays classic big band swing and fresh contemporary arrangements — bringing the energy and joy of live swing to dancers, listeners, and every kind of audience.

From its first months, the band has built a regular home on stage in Ghent, bringing the energy, pacing, and warmth of a live swing orchestra to dancers and listeners.
